Yarn Painting with Claudia
April 8, 2023
The Art Center - 438 Main St.
Join us with your family to learn the art of yarn painting. Images are created using yarn adhered to a cardboard surface and wound around in every direction outlining snakes, flowers, lizards and other things found in nature The Huichols believed that people are connected to nature and all living things. After drawing some simple shapes on the cardboard, the yarn is applied with glue and then each image comes to life with a dark outline. Then, colorful yarn snaking close to each edge of the outline is applied in rows until the whole area is covered. This fun and easy art project is a great family activity.
Class is free, thanks to a grant from the Ramona Community Foundation. Space is limited, and registration is required. Sign up now!
